Thank you for contacting Glass Slipper Concierge for your Disney Cruise! We will need to discuss several things in order to put together the best cruise for your family. Below are some of the things you'll need to start considering.
When to Cruise: Cruise itineraries are for certain dates so it's best to have a general block of dates that work for you and we can find a cruise that falls within those dates. The ships hold a finite number of guests and most sell out so it's best to book as soon as you have some dates!
Length of Cruise: Disney Cruise Line has 4 ships that offer 3-, 4-, 5- and 7-night cruises mostly cruising out of Port Canaveral, Florida. Some 5-night cruises sail out of Miami. Galveston, Texas, offers 7-night cruises in November and December.
The longer the cruise, the better the vacation. It takes about 24-36 hours to unpack, get your "sea legs" and learn your way around the ship. Once these have been accomplished, you will be amazed at how relaxed you become and really start to unwind! The shorter cruises, while fun, they are often too short to really get the full experience! The only complaint I ever receive from cruise clients is, "it wasn't long enough!"
However, since your budget, work schedule and school schedule often dictates the length of cruise you choose, it's better to choose a shorter one than no cruise at all!
What Cabin Category is best?: There are 3 main types of cabins:
Inside Stateroom: these cabins are the least expensive and have no windows
Oceanview Stateroom: these cabins are mostly on the lower decks and have a window that doesn't open
Verandah: these cabins are on higher decks and have a balcony
And, don't forget about Concierge! Disney Cruise Line Concierge level is one of the best on the water. We can discuss the amazing benefits that come with Concierge.
Cruise Itineraries: While you can certainly cruise on Disney Cruise Line to the Mediterranean and Europe, the most common cruises sail out of Port Canaveral, Florida and sail to the Eastern Caribbean (Virgin Islands), Western Caribbean (Mexico, Jamaica, Caymans) and Bahamas. There are some cruises during specific times of the year that sail to the Bahamas out of Miami, Galveston and New York. There are many others but these are the most popular.
These are the initial components to consider and we can discuss these more in detail. But it gives you something to think about until we talk! I look forward with designing and customizing your cruise! Once we get your cruise booked, we'll discuss more details like the best shore excursions, onboard activities and land transfers.
